My Hessian ancestor is Daniel Hillenburg (Heldenburg and many other spellings), today Hillenburg. Daniel ended up in Washington County, VA, the part which later became Wythe County. He married Barbara Shreder. He was Hilgenburg originally. Incidentally, the Hillenburg house is still standing in Wythe County, VA. Many descendants remained in Wythe County, but many also mighrated to Indiana.

Hilgenberg/Helgenberg, Daniel, 1752/53, Roehrenfurt D3509 (that's the old postal code, now 34212 Melsungen-Roehrenfurt, about 20 km south of Kassel/Hessen) Kassel Regt. Rall, 2.Comp., captured in Trenton, N.J., Dec.26, 1776. (on Trenton POW list with note "taken to Lancaster"), listed as deserted in April 1779.
